You can make a healthy version of almost anything, from chocolate to potato chips!
Below are some healthy versions of popular snacks and meals. Which are you favourites?
Popcorn w Cheese - Organic popcorn (since most corn is GMO) + olive oil/flax seed oil + sea salt + nutritional yeast (naturally cheesy, and high in B12). Cooked in a hot air popper. Add cayenne, curry powder, dill, garlic, even sprinkle stevia or cinnamon for sweetness!
> You still get the cheesy flavour, but without dairy. Eliminating dairy makes a world of difference to the health of many people.
Potato Chips - There are a few ways to go here. The easiest is to just thin slice (or thick slice) potatoes, and roast them in the oven. Coat with olive oil before roasting (buy a pastry brush for this), and after done, sprinkle with sea salt, paprika, garlic, dill, or even chili powder or cumin. This way you're getting much healthier fat than the low quality oils used in most potato chips. Bonus points: buy organic potatoes, since they are a very highly sprayed veggie.
"Veggie chips" can also be done this way, or the ever popular, "Kale chips".
Cabbage rolls - same as usual but instead of rice you use crumbled cauliflower. Much lower carb. (other ingredients are ground meat and italian herbs, cooked in tomato sauce).
Tuna Salad Lettuce Wraps - your usual tuna salad (tuna, mayo, celery, diced peppers...) but wrapped in a romaine lettuce leaf. Or a collard leaf if you're feeling adventurous!
Phat fudge - 'healthy' fudge made by combining fat (butter or coconut oil), with cacao, some nut butter of your choice, honey, and any extras like maca, ground coffee, cinnamon, ginger or even ginseng!
Coconut cream - the 'non-dairy' whipped cream. I had this recently and it was a-ma-zing. Open a can of full-fat coconut milk, and scoop off the creamy thick part: Freeze it, whip it, add some sweetener, and voila. Coconut whip!
Spaghetti Squash "Pasta" - instead of noodles you are use spaghetti squash. This way you avoid gluten and it's lower carb. But equally tasty.
Stuffed Peppers - a lot like cabbage rolls. Wait...this is exactly like cabbage rolls.
