It's been tried in parts of Canada, and parts of Europe. The Green Party has a form of it in their plan, and Elon Musk says it will likely be forced into being as robots take over more and more jobs and replace human workers. It's been called Universal Basic Income, Guaranteed Living Allowance, and Mincome.
It would go to everyone, not just the under-waged. It means giving each person in Canada about $1400/mo, enough money to afford housing, food, clothes and medicine, nothing extra. And that's with no strings attached, and no obligation to seek work. It would replace welfare and disability with one new program, the GLA/UBI.
But some say "Everyone will become lazy!" and "Where will that money come from anyway?"
So have they all gone nuts? Or do they know something we don't?
A friend: "Can you give me some meditation tips?"
Me: "Don't over think it.
Sit and breathe. Rest your attention on the breath.
Rest, and enjoy resting.
Around 2005, I started having night-dreams telling me to go to San Francisco. This went on for maybe 2 months. This kind of thing wasn't entirely new to me. In fact, this was the second time I was guided to California.
I eventually made the trip. And I eventually came upon Archangel Michael's Soul Therapy Center, a healing center in Berkeley, California. It was a loft space staffed by a few monks and nuns, but unusual: it was caucasian westerners, dressed in Tibetan colours, with many crystal healing tools, and meditation music playing throughout the space.
I have been slim all my life. And even after I started working out, I gained maybe 2.5 lbs. Consequently, I didn't think weight gain for me was possible.
Then I found the website www.bonytobeastly.com, and my mind was changed. There are skinny guys there who put on up to 30 lbs!
(they also run a site for women called www.bonytobombshell.com).
My cancer healing advice in a nutshell: do CBD oil, and follow
Dr. Kelly Turners "9 Keys to Radical Remission".
1. Check out www.RadicalRemission.com, and the book Radical Remission, and any of the You Tubes or Websites on Dr. Kelly Turner's work. She has studied over 300 cancer thrivers, and she noticed 9 key things they all did in common. Those 9 things form the basis of her work. This article explains the 9 keys nicely: 9 Keys to Radical Remission.
Don't fight against candida, build health.
Do you crave sugar or refined carbs? You may have Candida overgrowth. Candida is a fungus that is naturally occurring in the body, but when it over-grows, it can create serious health problems, including anxiety, depression, fatigue, brain fog, and muscle aches. But the main symptom of Candida overgrowth (aka CRC, Candida-related complex), is sugar and carb cravings. Candida itself can make you crave sugar, refined flour, and sweet fruits...the things Candida feeds on the most.
But resolving candida is not a mystery. Thousands of people have recovered from it, and you can too.
I have struggled greatly with sugar addiction and candida in this life, and the consequences on my health and mood have been serious. Consequently I read many books on sugar and candida and have become somewhat of an expert on it. The main way to beat candida is through dietary change, but lifestyle changes and nutritional supplements may also be essential. Here are my suggestions:
Have you seen the movie Concussion? It is the riveting true story of Dr. Bennett Omalu, played by Will Smith, and the NFL.
Dr. Omalu discovered, at his own expense, that concussions in football actually give players brain damage. And the outcome is that it destroys their lives. They lose the ability to sleep, to remember, to regulate moods, and more. Some become violent, and many have become suicidal.
And further, the NFL knew about this, and did not disclose this with players at the time. But like the big tobacco companies, once the truth could no longer be denied, the NFL changed their position. This movie, which is excellent by the way, makes it graphically clear that the repeated concussions sustained in football, result in many players eventually losing their minds - they experience attacks of rage, inability to focus, remember, or sleep, all symptoms of a damaged brain - and it's usually the frontal cortex that sustains the most damage - the part of the brain that makes us most human, involved with decision-making, planning, etc, 'executive functions'.
After football, they go on to become very much like war veterans, unable to live a normal life. According to one study: 28% of professionals foot-ball players are affected.
Here's the trailer for Concussion (2015). It is a powerful movie, and one of Will Smith's best roles, in my opinion.
The future of healing is already being practiced. It called Integrative Medicine (IM), and it is an integration of allopathic (western) medicine, with evidence-based holistic medicine. To my knowledge, the first Integrative Medicine training program is still being taught at the University of Arizona headed Dr. Andrew Weil.
This is sometimes also called "P4" medicine: as in preventive, predictive, personalized and participatory.
I see the future of medicine including the following:
As cannabis medicine comes to the fore, hemp-extracted CBD will be increasingly popular, since it contains almost no THC, and is therefore non-psychoactive, yet still has amazing health benefits!
Non-psychoactive CBD reduces inflammation, reduces anxiety, lowers blood sugar, reduces seizures, helps with sleep, improves skin conditions, and may even reduce tumor size and be cancer-preventive.
The question is, how can one medicine do so many things? Here I’m going to share two complementary views of how one medicine can do so much: 1) the evolutionary view, and 2) the science view.
It is not hard to see that delusion is everywhere on planet earth: the religious all think their religion is the only path to God, greed is a delusion that it is creating huge poverty, racism is a widespread collective delusion, and so is the objectification of women.
Delusion is the atmosphere we live in today. The truth is we are just beginning to wake up - we don’t yet have clear, discerning minds that can easily tell truth from lies.
So with all that delusion going on, we can safely assume that we aren’t yet able to easily discern a real spiritual teacher from one who just wears the clothes and talks the talk.
"Worrying only attracts to you what you're worried about"
Do you worry? If so, you're not alone, as many people worry. And don't think this has anything to do with YOU. Worry is a natural result of being sensitive being in the world as it is today - often what we're feeling and getting drawn into isn't even ours, it's energy coming at us from the world in all it's pain and confusion.
Worry is not your natural state. And like everything else that is unnatural to us, it can completely be changed. But doing so will take diligent effort - you are really training your mind, and your body, since they are one. See this as mind-training - or a path of self-healing/self-transformation, because that's what it is.
With that in mind, here's a few simple solutions that can really help:
Today Chromebooks are the most widely used computer in education.
My top tip: If you're not a "power user", buy a Chromebook. In short: they are inexpensive, fast, and will do everything most people want to do on a computer.
You can actually get a new one that looks like a Macbook Air, is almost as fast, but costs 1/3 the price of a Macbook Air. Yes really (see pic below). They are cloud-based computing, and many say that is the future.
My top tips on buying a Chromebook:
1) get 4 Gb of ram
2) get an IPS screen, unless you don't mind washed out colours, and
3) pay for the extended warranty, often a good idea with technology
Transparency: Its been a long journey to realizing that anxiety and depression are something I experience, and they will probably not go away completely any day soon. Partly this is because these emotions are lifestyle driven - I have to actually learn to live better, and practice what I learn. Like the note I made recently in my journal:
"How Fast Can You Master Your Lessons?"
So here's 28 things I've learned that help me have better moods:
"We will ultimately transition from owning animals, to being stewards of the animal kingdom. We will become true caretakers of the earth. And we will do this with great wisdom."
An that increased understanding towards animals means we will not take them into our homes. We will not have 'pets'. Read on and you will see what this cultural trend costs both society and the animals we love.
